Business Development Associate

Advanced Micro Peripherals is looking for a Business Development Associate to join it’s New York Office. The BDA must have Business-to-business experience and will identify new business opportunities and expand AMP’s perceived value within existing customer base. He/She will qualify incoming leads and gather valuable account intelligence. As part of the sales process they will identify key decision makers, profile accounts, assess revenue potential and set conference call appointments. The ideal candidate should enjoy reaching out to prospects via email and phone. Candidates should be able to work independently, managing their time, creating tasks and delivering.

Position Description:

  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors
  • Ability to explore customer needs and translate them into high-level product requirements
  • Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules etc
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales
  • Support Product Managers to understand the market need/direction for adequate product development in the Americas
  • Build up professional knowledge and relationship with key component vendors
  • Research suitable marketing media and arrange Co-marketing with key component suppliers

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will have earned a bachelor’s degree and have 2-3 years of experience in development. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of confidentiality required. Candidates must have excellent computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) familiarity with Quickbooks and demonstrated ability to use CRM systems.
